Project 15 - Front-end Tub Repair

PJ Grady Europe has undertaken many different forms of DeLorean tub repairs. This page covers a replacement front section recently grafted into one of our customers cars.

The previous repair (not one of ours!) was very bad, as it consisted largely of lots of filler, plastic brackets and pot rivets! When all of the effected area was removed, we were left with a quarter of the front-end missing.

In these pictures (above) you can see the new area ready to be patched into the car. In the following pictures (below) you can see the almost finished car. The area has been sanded down and repainted. It is now ready for its sheet metal and its fascia.

All of the area has been plate riveted and then fibreglassed. In effect, the repair is now stronger than when the tub was first moulded.
